Prof. Lei Zhang

Executive Dean, Professor of Sino-Swiss Institute of Advanced Technology (SSIAT) at Shanghai University. He obtained his PhD in Molecular Biology & Biophysics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in 2012. Since then, he has worked in R&D and Innovation departments of Bayer with increasing responsibility and was selected as a Bayer Science Fellow in 2021. Currently he also serves as the Executive Vice President of Chinese Association of Life Science in Switzerland, and healthcare advisor to Great Zurich Area. He has participated in the creation of multiple biotechnology startups, and holds publications/patents covering a wide range of therapeutics and in vitro diagnostics. At SSIAT, Prof. Lei Zhang and his team focus on R&D of biosensor, biochip and smart biomaterials by interdisciplinary approach, specially between microelectronics and life science. Prof. Lei Zhang is a member of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID).
