From July 18th to 27th, during his visit to China, Benoît Dubuis, President of the Swiss Academy of Engineering and Dean of the Sino-Swiss Institute of Advanced Technology at Shanghai University, visited the Grand NeoBay Science and Technology Park and the National Intelligent Sensor Innovation Center (Shanghai Intelligent Sensor Industrial Park), to conduct on-site study of Shanghai's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. On July 25th-26th, Zhang Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Committee and Minister of the Organization Department, Huang Hong, Deputy Director of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Lu Zufang, Standing Committee Member of the Jiading District Committee and Executive Deputy District Head, and leaders of relevant committees and offices successively had in-depth exchanges with Prof. Dubuis on topics related to Shanghai's industrial clusters, talent aggregation, policy services, and support systems. Zhang Wei pointed out that education, science and technology, and talent are the foundation of Chinese modernization. Shanghai is accelerating the construction of a high-level talent highland. He welcomed Prof. Dubuis as the new dean of the Sino-Swiss Institute of Advanced Technology at Shanghai University, believing that his appointment could drive the institute to further gather high-end innovative elements and achieve greater breakthroughs in international cooperation, talent training, and industrial transformation. The municipal organization and the municipal talent bureau will continue to provide service and support for talent teams. Huang Hong noted that it is hoped that the Sino-Swiss Institute of Advanced Technology at Shanghai University will further expand its cooperation network around key areas such as biomedicine, introduce Swiss technology, talent, funding, and professional service organizations, promote Sino-Swiss scientific and technological cooperation and talent exchange, drive the development of Shanghai's industries, and support local enterprises in going global. At the same time, she also looks forward to the institute playing a bridging role, encouraging institutions such as the Swiss Academy of Engineering to actively participate in the Pujiang Innovation Forum, jointly hosting thematic events, and inviting top Swiss scientists and well-known business leaders to Shanghai for exchanges. In response to Prof. Dubuis's idea of drawing on Swiss innovation experience to build a Sino-Swiss International Concept Validation Center, Lu Zufang expressed that Jiading District has all the necessary innovative elements and would be very welcoming to the establishment of the Sino-Swiss International Concept Validation Center in Jiading. On one hand, it would connect with research institutes to identify and support potentially valuable projects for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. On the other hand, it would meet market demands by providing policy guarantees to accelerate the integration of relevant elements and the launch of products. Both parties would share resources, promote mutual wins, and jointly promote high-quality economic development in the region. |
